What if the mobile app won't load or isn't syncing?

Force-close and reopen the app. If it still won't load, check your internet, then make sure you're signed in to the same email you use on the browser. Most sync issues clear within a minute of reconnecting.

The Happyly mobile app shows the same site you'd see in your browser — it's a small wrapper around the web app. So most fixes are the same as a browser refresh, with a couple of mobile-specific steps.

The app shows a blank screen or won't load.

  1. Force-close the app (swipe it away from your recent apps) and reopen it.
  2. Check your internet connection. The app needs a live connection on first load.
  3. If it still won't load, check whether your phone has a pending app update — older versions of the wrapper can lose access if a server contract changes.

My data isn't matching what's on the browser.

This is almost always a sign-in mismatch. Open My Account on both surfaces and confirm you're signed in with the same email. If you signed in to the browser as one user and the mobile app as another (or as a guest), the data scopes are different by design.

If the email matches but data still isn't syncing:

  • Pull down to refresh the screen you're on (Activity Tracker, Insights, Rhythm Guide).
  • Check the time on your phone — the time format and timezone are read from your device.
  • Wait 30–60 seconds. New entries from the browser sync to the mobile app live, but a slow network can delay the update.

Voice mode isn't picking up my voice on mobile.

Check that the app has microphone permission in your phone's settings. iOS and Android both require explicit microphone access. If permission is granted but voice still isn't working, switch to typed chat — Happyly can read text messages aloud as a fallback for hands-busy moments.

Notifications stopped coming.

Nudges only fire when you're using the app. Happyly doesn't send push notifications — that's deliberate (the empathy research found notifications make tired parents feel surveilled). If you want a reminder for a predicted sleep window, keep the app open or set a phone alarm.
