Happyly ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

  • Account details: email, name, password (stored securely).
  • Baby information you voluntarily provide: age, sleep logs, notes, feeding details.
  • Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (for analytics and security).

We only collect data needed to deliver sleep coaching.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide personalized coaching suggestions.
  • Store and display your sleep history.
  • Improve the App and send important account emails.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your data. We share only what is necessary with trusted service providers under strict contracts.

The chat messages you send to your sleep coach are processed by xAI (the makers of Grok) to generate replies. xAI receives the message text and returns a response; we instruct them not to use it to train their models.

Children's / Baby Data

Parents/guardians enter information about babies. We treat this sensitively and use it only to provide the sleep coaching service, in line with the NZ Privacy Act 2020. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 except through verified parent accounts.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your Rights

You can: - Access or correct your data. - Request deletion of your account and data. - Opt out of non-essential emails.

International Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed on servers outside New Zealand. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal session cookies for the app to function. No advertising cookies.

We use PostHog to record anonymous product analytics — page views and feature events tied to a session ID. We strip names, chat content, and other personal details before sending. We do not track you across other apps or sites.

We may update it and will notify you via the App or email.
